Pet$ave is a privately owned pet products distributor, proudly serving Canadian retailers, veterinary clinics, and industry professionals since 2009. We offer an unrivalled selection of aquatic and reptile support products, and also carry a wide variety of popular dog, cat, bird, and small animal merchandise. At Pet$ave, it is our ongoing mission to build long-term business relationships which foster mutual growth and success. Based out of Woodbridge, Ontario, our state-of-the-art distribution centre is home to a 100,000 square foot warehouse and over 10,000 top-selling SKUs.

Our Team

Hugh Dunstan-Blackie

Hugh Dunstan-Blackie joined the Pet$ave team in 2015. He is the Sales Representative covering the Maritimes and Newfoundland Labrador. After twelve years in International Banking mostly in London (UK), he underwent a radical career change. He went from banking to managing his own tropical fish store. He ran an award-winning specialist store in Scotland for eight years prior to moving to Canada in 2012.

A keen aquarist, Hugh started in the hobby when he was eleven. He is a self-confessed freshwater fish nerd. He has set up his own fish rooms/houses with multiple tanks and filtration systems. Despite having had a variety of large tank set ups over the years he actually prefers micro fish in nano tanks.

He’s a genuine ‘people-person’. He enjoys meeting store owners and takes a personal approach to dealing with each one. He likes problem-solving especially creating innovative solutions to help boost customers’ aquatic sales! He is more than happy to share his specialist knowledge.

Hugh’s personal menagerie currently consists of two dogs – a Miniature Poodle and a Jack Russell cross and his Zebra Knifefish.

Anthony Miko

Anthony Miko joined the Pet$ave team in July of 2011 as a Southern Ontario Territory Sales Representative. He graduated from Seneca College with a diploma in Business Management, completed Veterinarian Technician

On his days off, you can find Anthony fishing Lake Simcoe, plane-spotting at Toronto Pearson Airport, or simply sitting on his balcony staring into the night sky pondering the universe. All jokes aside, Anthony is a HUGE animal lover who cares for 5 wonderful pets, including two Toy Poodles, a French Bulldog, an African Grey named Lucy, and an assortment of tropical fish.

Fernando Da Silva

As a Pet$ave Sales Representative, Fernando has enjoyed great success in growing his customer base and territory. This is largely due to his extensive knowledge of pet supplies, as well as his unwavering dedication to his loyal customers.

Fernando loves his day-to-day, meeting new and interesting store owners who share his passion for animals and pets. His territory consists of working both Ontario and Quebec, reaching from Eastern and Northern Ontario and also Western and Northern Quebec (including his home town of Ottawa).

Fernando’s love for animals began when he was just a young boy. His father bred pigeons and rabbits, and also raised doves to sell to pet stores. Fernando grew up with several dogs and a cat. He has been a fish hobbyist for over 30 years and even had purebred collies that he presented at dog shows. He now has a cat named Pitou, and a disabled lovebird named Pico. Fernando’s real passion in the hobby is his 80 gallon reef aquarium that he has been running now for eight strong years!

Kevin Patch

Kevin Patch was raised in a family owned retail pet store since the tender age of 7. Whether it be educating people on the benefits of quality pet food or keeping an aquarium in tip-top condition, Kevin feels that this is his place in life. Beginning at the age of 7, Kevin was serving customers, unpacking orders, taking time with sales representatives, putting customers through the cash, attending trade shows, and much more! He has always fostered a true passion for the pet trade, with a core focus on aquatics. Kevin has personally kept and cared for just about every type of pet found within the pet industry.

Due to his extensive knowledge and hands-on experience, Kevin is perfectly suited to his role as a Pet$ave sales representative. Always prepared to go the extra mile, Kevin offers exceptional support to all of his loyal customers. He helps with store merchandising, presents new and exciting products, and shares his wealth of product knowledge with sales staff. Kevin firmly believes that customer satisfaction is the #1 priority. He is responsible for the Eastern Quebec territory – everything south of the St-Lawrence River.

Kevin has a passionate love for pets and their needs. He appreciates that pets are completely reliant on their caregivers, and views his own pets as his “children”. Kevin is a self-proclaimed fish geek, and many who know him would say that he may have a problem controlling his aquatic hobby. Kevin’s favourite type of fish is the freshwater stingray, which is native of South America. He is one of the few ray keepers in eastern Canada who keeps Black Rays. They get the best treatment as they require no less than the best. Kevin also has a strong passion for dogs. To him, they really are man’s best friend. He will never forget his Big Old Boy Bruce, and could never ask for a better or more loyal companion!

Robin Lutchman

Robin Lutchman brings with him over 30 years of retail and wholesale experience in the pet industry. Due to his passion for pets, he has always taken a hands-on approach towards this growing industry. This has enabled him to gain an incredible wealth of product knowledge across all pet categories. Over the years, Robin has learned that to be successful you must listen carefully to your customers’ needs. With that in mind, he strives to offer the best customer service possible, while fostering long-term relationships.

Driven by his philosophies on cooperation and respect, Robin excels in the area of business development and sales management. He employs these tools to develop and strengthen his relationships with retailer store owners, managers, and employees. Robin has always been highly self-motivated, and his vast experience in sales has enabled him to grow consistently. He regularly attends industry trade shows on an international level to ensure awareness of current market trends.

Robin’s experience in purchasing and sales management makes him a very well rounded sales representative. His extensive knowledge of the pet industry and its products make him an asset and resource to all of his customers.

Robin’s love of pets came at a young age in the aquatic hobby, which then grew to include reptiles, birds, and of course dogs. Over the years, he has bred fish, reptiles, birds, and amphibians. Robin currently keeps a large 300 gallon reef ecosystem containing many SPS corals, but it doesn't end there. He also has a collection of African finches and parrots, and a beloved dog. Robin’s personal passion for pets and animals keeps him apprised of all the latest industry products and trends.

Jonathan Moldaver

A relative newcomer to the industry, Jonathan Moldaver has quickly become an invaluable member of the Pet$ave family. Equipped with a love of both pets and sales, he oversees the Pet$ave Sales Team while serv

Jonathan’s love for the animal kingdom developed early on in childhood. He grew up with a pet Budgie, a beloved Border Collie/Lab mix named Brandi (who was more family member than pet), and currently keeps a beautifully-stocked 150 gallon African Cichlid aquarium.

Leveraging his retail background and strong interpersonal skills, Jonathan has quickly come into his own as both a Manager and as a Pet$ave Sales Representative. He is determined to build long-lasting relationships with his customers, and is always prepared to go above and beyond to meet their individual needs. Jonathan has also proven to be a very quick study, amassing an incredible wealth of product and industry knowledge in a relatively short period of time.
